| A light and soft necklace with an ethnic touch. A mother-of-pearl strip mounted horizontally on a black cotton cord. The mother-of-pearl is lavender. A chiseled, curved, silver tube hangs beneath the mother-of-pearl, also horizontal. A copper resin bead and a small silver tube on one side bring a touch of asymmetry so dear to my heart. This long necklace is from the ATACAMA collection, which is intended as a tribute to the country of my 17 years, Chile. Atacama is the name of the desert in northern Chile where copper and lapis lazuli are extracted. The altitude, the wind from the highlands, the howling of the coyotes, the trickling of the waters of the Cordillera and the starry sky: each piece of jewelry is inspired by this harsh and immense nature. |
