A large gray/blue mother-of-pearl disc is mounted on a wire, framed by fine metal tubes, lavender cat's eye glass cubes, metal washers, and fine shards of lapis lazuli, a stone used in lithotherapy. This bracelet is from the ATACAMA collection, which is intended as a tribute to the country of my 17th year, Chile. Atacama is the name of the desert in northern Chile where copper and lapis lazuli are extracted. The altitude, the wind from the highlands, the howling of coyotes, the trickling waters of the Cordillera, and the starry sky: each piece of jewelry is inspired by this harsh and immense nature. |
